Mavado was convicted in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court back in May of 2012 on charges of assault and destruction of property.
Mavado filed an appeal to overturn the conviction but a judge ruled against the deejay today (October 18). The judge says he finds no fault in the Resident Magistrate’s Court ruling.
Reports are that the charges are as a result of an incident which occurred back in 2011 involving an altercation with Mavado’s entourage and a man name Henry Cunningham and his son Oshane Cunningham.
Both men were severely injured in the altercation and their motor vehicle damaged.
Mavado will now have to pay a fine of JM$100,000 or serve six month in jail.
